KIM Rating: 1.5.2Well, I can say that seeing this movie has made Jumanji more intriguing than it ever has been since it's by the same author and such. That being said... This was a clever little movie that provides a ton of good character moments and some decent lessons to boot. The space effects are really good and it was amusing to see the house get destroyed bit by bit as the movie wore onward. I imagine the filmmakers had fun destroying this little thing. I learned afterwards that the house was a model rather than CG, so that just ups the fun factor on destroying it. The film was not without its nuisances. The most irritating was after they figured out that playing the game would probably get them home, they played the game less and less and focused on running around the house as it was blown apart. The youngest would be told over and over to take his turn and he would continually refuse in a clear attempt to prolong the story. I just know that I would be going every turn every chance I got...and I would NOT under any circumstance throw the game down in an effort to break it. It got annoying, but fortunately the fun of the movie made up for it. That's really all I have to say on that one. It worked well for me with a decent lesson behind it. It also helped at the end that it "really" happened for everyone involved.
