KIM rating: 2.4.5This little known film follows a guy named Jerome through his day until we learn his name is Vincent and he is borrowing the life and genes of Jerome in order to achieve his life long dream of going into space. You see, Vincent was a natural child, not genetically engineered as Jerome and most of society are in those days. The doctors told Vincent's parents at his birth how long he was likely to live as well as a 99% chance of dying from a heart condition. This whole new version of prejudice plays throughout the movie as a murder happens and a small bit of Vincent's DNA is discovered. Since he is not a perfect genetically engineered person, he is automatically the suspect...the trick for the cops is that Vincent is known as Jerome and Vincent is using Jerome's genetic material to hide his true identity. This seems confusing as I've described it, but the film is rich in characterization and atmosphere. It has a solid ending that feels good, and the little guy triumphing over the system in a big way. Great film.
