I have been in touch with a couple of "microcinema" people who make movies, but are not affiliated with the major companies would not have national distribution. My goal with these is to just get my name on some films (any films) so it is easier to show how well I can write in the way of a DVD or VHS instead of just having the script.
The scripts I write for these people are ideas of theirs, not mine, as people are more likely to have you write their ideas for them to film to start with.
Let's just say the idea came to me following my experience with Alien Proof for Zwei Films of Australia.

Bring Me To Life 2 (CTF Films) -- Odd writing a sequel for someone else especially when I have not seen the first movie. This is a teen drama involving 6 characters, one of whom spends most of the film in a coma. I have worked out 6 interlocking plots for them and it should be quite good and stand alone from whatever happened in the first film. I wonder if I could get him to lose the "2" and go with a subtitle...
Update: As stated below, this film was retitled Jagged.

Dead (Poison X Studios) -- I've never written a zombie film before, and I honestly never planned to. While the genre is not my favorite, it does have a large cult following thanks to George Romero and his Night of the Living Dead film of 1968. This one takes place after a big nuclear attempt to wipe out the zombies which fails miserably leaving them just as viral as ever. My current angle is to use the zombie story as a backdrop, ensure all the good zombie stuff is there, but make a solid dramatic tale among those who are trying to survive the ordeal and hopefully get a happy ending out of it.

Thanks, Elliott. Those were my initial thoughts before I had much to go on. Since then, I've gotten a lot more info, and have a good start on the script. I know all I need to know of the backstory to write what relates to the first one.
And yeah, I dislike numerals in titles unless (my sole exception) the subsequent film is a direct continuation of the first and nothing could have possibly happened between them. Notable movies in this category are The Godfather with Part 2 (it has a three from 1990 but two won several Oscars) and Back to the Future followed by Parts 2 & 3.
Even so, Lord of the Rings works fine with different titles, meaning this little exception need not be followed to a T. James Bond doesn't even use "Bond" in any of the 20 movie titles, and yet, I have all of them in release order.
Another option with this one is to use a different title altogether. This has also been done before with Father of the Bride followed by Daddy's Little Dividend. The remake of "Dividend" used Part 2 in lieu of the different title, however.

Since then, Elliott changed the title to Jagged. I'm not sure how it relates to the plot of the film at this point, and it's probably a song title as he indicated before he liked to use them.

As long as you like it, that is the main thing. You gotta like your title.

I'm proofreading another script for the moment, but I should be done with that today. I'll get it either today or tomorrow probably.
